Singer and songwriter Moe Loughran is a Cincinnati, OH, native who took wing and landed in Nashville. The Tennessee city's heartbeat might be country, but Loughran brought pop/rock rhythm with her. She started her journey into the world of music as somewhat of a piano prodigy when she was only four years old. At seven, she began to explore her skills at songwriting. Three years later, she lost interest in the piano and never found her way back, but there was other ways of releasing her musical energy.
While in high school, Loughran expanded her musical talents by training in traditional/classical opera. Once she moved to Nashville, she attended and graduated from Belmont University where she studied blues-rock. In 1998, she recorded her debut offering, an EP titled Hey Michael. It was followed the next year by a full-length album, Damn Depressing Love Songs, both were independently released.
